Mrs. Thompson's Pre-K Class

Mrs. Duncan and I are very excited to be your child’s teachers and we look forward to a great school year!  I anticipate a very busy and enriching year with your child. We will be following Georgia’s Pre-K Program Content Standards (GELDS), which provide the foundation for instruction in all Georgia’s Pre-K classrooms. What is taught in Pre-K lays the foundation for expectations in Kindergarten! Keep in mind that these standards should reflect what the children should know at the end of the Pre-K year---not at the beginning.  You can check these out on the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning Bright from the Start’s website http://www.decal.ga.gov.  I have high expectations for all of my students, and hope that you will encourage your student at home by participating as much as possible in your child’s education.
