Principal’s Message

Leah Ellingsen is proud to serve as Principal of Satilla Marsh Elementary School. With 20 years of experience in education, she brings a deep commitment to student success, instructional excellence, and building strong school communities.

Dear Satilla Marsh Elementary Families,

Welcome to a wonderful school year! I am incredibly proud and honored to serve as
your Principal. Satilla Marsh holds a truly special place in my heart, as I spent the first
ten years of my career teaching right here. Returning to the school community that
helped shape my journey as an educator and leader is a true homecoming.

As we look to the future, my vision for our school centers on two core pillars: increasing
rigor for all students and learning with love.

Every child at Satilla Marsh deserves to be challenged and inspired to reach their
highest potential. Drawing from my background in gifted education, I believe in raising
the bar for every student by providing high-quality, engaging, and rigorous instructional
experiences. We will stretch their thinking, build their problem-solving skills, and prepare
them for long-term success.

However, true academic challenge can only happen when children feel completely safe,
valued, and known. At Satilla Marsh, rigor goes hand-in-hand with love. We are
dedicated to creating a nurturing environment where every child feels supported and
celebrated for who they are. When we lead with love, our students gain the confidence
to take risks, learn from mistakes, and grow into enthusiastic lifelong learners.

I look forward to partnering closely with our talented staff and your families to continue
our school’s rich tradition of excellence. Thank you for entrusting us with your children.
Together, we will ensure this is a year of incredible growth, joy, and achievement.

Warmly,
Leah Ellingsen
